Shana is a Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She is an associate consultant with FTF Behavioral Consulting and works with Capital ABA in the Northern Virginia and
Washington D.C. regions to provide collaborative behavior analytic services in-the-home to families with children diagnosed with autism. Shana has a strong passion for helping families to
create meaningful change utilizing a safe and dignified approach.
Shana developed enthusiasm for the science of behavior while working in the field with marine mammals. She has been engaged in the behavior community now for 20 years, expanding her
work to help families and children with autism in 2014. She utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis to create learning environments for children and adolescents in school, clinic, and home settings.
Her long-standing volunteer activities in programs, such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, solidified her commitment to working with children with disabilities and helping to make their lives
happier and more fulfilling.
Shana graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She earned a Master of Business Administration from Webster University and a Master of Arts in
Applied Behavior Analysis with a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder from Ball State University, with additional coursework completed at Florida Institute of Technology. During
graduate school, Shana completed a large portion of her clinical experience while working with children and adolescents with autism at Ivymount School in Rockville, Maryland, under the
supervision of Drs. Kelsey Ruppel and Kaneen (Gaiger) Smyer.
