Our quarterly newsletter shares what we’ve been working on, what’s coming next, and the people and ideas shaping our approach to Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT). It’s for educators, clinicians, families, and anyone working to improve outcomes for children and adults with severe problem behavior. Inside, you’ll find research updates, continuing education opportunities, reflections from our team, and stories from schools and clinics putting compassionate, evidence-based practices into action.

The Fall Professional Development Issue
New Season, Sharper Skills
Our fourth newsletter is here, with professional development for the season ahead.
In this issue, we look at four ways PFA-SBT has evolved since its early versions, from a time-based to a performance-based analysis, and from extinction toward a safer, more supportive response to problem behavior. We introduce the 3-Day PFA-SBT Live Virtual Workshop with Dr. Claire Egan, Dr. Theresa Fiani, and Dr. Dithu Rajaraman, and share three new courses on learn.ftfbc.com. Credential holders will find a monthly renewal offer running through December. Our Community Spotlight features Niesha Illingworth, and we close with FTF’s workshop partnership model, which helps organizations recoup the cost of hosting a training.
Thank you for taking time to read our fourth issue.
